HUR info - Natural Transmission

HUR equipment was developed as the result of a research project conducted at the University of Technology in Helsinki, Finland. The outcome was HUR's unique Natural Transmission™ mechanism that replaces the weight-plates; cams and pulleys used in traditional weight stack machines with a pneumatic system of resistance.

Benefits of
Natural Transmission

Using air as resistance overcomes the additional effort required to lift a static weight at the beginning of an exercise and to slow it down at the end, making the movement feel 'smoother' to execute. HUR's more consistent load or resistance profile reduces stress on joints and connective tissues. The workload is applied more specifically to the muscles for more effective results. It mimics the natural function of the muscles.

The resistance curve

The resistance curve of HUR machines maintains its profile regardless of the speed of movement providing endurance as well as strength training benefits.

High-Speed movement

Exercising with HUR machines is safe and effective at both low and high movement speeds. The lack of inertia makes the machines ideally suitable for the elderly, for people undergoing rehabilitation, as well as for the top athlete. You can train harder with lower risk of injury.

HUR works opposing muscle groups in one exercise (i.e. both eccentrically and concentrically) in the same way the body is designed to function, developing better-balanced, effective results more quickly and safely.
